Dear Families,

At our January school assembly, the focus was on the Character trait, Teamwork.  Congratulations to Sarah, Logan, Neepisi and Kaela for receiving a certificate this past month. They are a great example of how all the children in Room 204 are learning to work with others; this group can be depended upon to be kind and supportive of their classmates. They enjoy group activities and are co-operative and great at sharing books, class materials and their ideas with classmates.

February is shaping up to be a very busy month! Monday, February 11th is the 100th Day of School. To celebrate this day we will be doing a variety of activities. If you would like, help your child make their own collection of 100 things which could be displayed in a creative manner (for example, 100 popsicle sticks glued together to make a structure, 100 beads to make a necklace) and he/she can bring it in to show and share on this special day.

On Tuesday, February 14th we will be celebrating Valentine's Day. A class list has been sent home with each child to help ensure names are spelled correctly and no one is forgotten when making cards for classmates.  If you would like to send in a treat for your child to share with the class you are welcome to do so (please ensure that it is nut free!).

On the afternoon of Thursday, February 21st, we will be having a Scientist in the School workshop called Toys and Technology where we will have the opportunity to investigate simple machines and forces. Parent volunteers will be needed to help our scientist, please let me know if you would like to join us.

The children will be receiving their report cards on Friday February 8th . They have all worked hard and should take pride in their accomplishments.  It is a good time to reflect with them on a personal learning goal they may have and how you can continue to support them at home.

Finally, It is SPIRIT MONTH AT ANNETTE!!
