Dear Parents, 

We have been learning about the changes that occur when autumn comes and how animals and plants, especially trees, prepare for the colder weather.  We will be learning more about trees and how they are important to us.  Please help your child find a tree near your home to complete the Tree Journal that was sent home last week and return it to school by Wednesday, November 12.  You may choose to take a picture of the tree or add extra information about the tree if your child wishes.  I will be asking the children to observe their trees throughout the year for seasonal changes.

On the afternoon of Thursday, November 27, we will be having a Scientist in the School program called "Toys and Technology".  In this hands-on workshop, the children will be learning about how simple machines help make our lives easier.  Three or four parent volunteers are needed for the afternoon.  If you are interested in volunteering, please speak to me.
