Dear Parents,

As we begin the winter break, I would like to thank you for your support. Your continued commitment to your child's learning has been an important factor in helping make this term a successful one for all the children in Room 204. Thank you for taking the time to read together daily; with your support, the children are developing a love of reading and a deeper understanding of the stories shared. I appreciate as well the social skills you are helping develop. Your partnership in encouraging your child to understand and appreciate differences is helping to create friendships as well as the empathy and kindness needed to make our classroom a safe and caring place to learn.

Thank you to the parent volunteers who have helped us this term in the classroom, within our school community and with our field trips. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated.

During this winter break, I hope that you and your family can relax and enjoy some time together. I look forward to returning in the New Year and hope it will be a happy and healthy one for everyone.

PS  Thank you for your donations towards WWF. The children are excited that they will help protect endangered animals and their habitats.  We should receive our classroom snowy owl when we return to school on Monday, January 6, 2014. Have a safe and fun holiday!
