Dear Parents,

During this past month, we have been learning about why trees are important to our environment and the animals that live in trees.  The children have read many books about trees and have created fall trees, a class book and are working on individual mini-books about things trees give us.

We have also begun to discuss seasonal celebrations and traditions. During a group discussion, we talked about supporting a charity during the holiday season. We would like your help to adopt an animal through the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).  Through this symbolic adoption, we would be helping WWF protect a variety of at risk animals and the habitats, such as rainforests, they call home. If each child could bring in a small donation ( i.e. a toonie ) that would help us continue a classroom tradition that reflects the spirit of giving to others during the holidays.

Our Book Buddies are also collecting new hats, mittens, socks and scarves for a local shelter. Donations can be dropped off at the basket near the front office or to our classroom.

Thank you for your continued support

P.S. A reminder that our field trip to Black Creek Pioneer Village is on Wednesday, December 18th. Please ensure that you return the permission form by Monday. Enjoy your week-end.
